Meet The Therapist
Taja Riley, MA, LPC, NCC
Taja Riley is a licensed professional counselor, licensed school counselor and nationally certified counselor from Philadelphia, PA. Inspirational, positive and driven are some of the adjectives people often use to describe her. After losing her mother at a young age, Taja knew that she wanted to work with children and adolescents . She wanted to be the person she never had. Taja chose the path of mental health therapy as a way to uplift and encourage youth to find their voice and strive towards a better tomorrow.
She has a bachelors degree in psychology, a masters in counseling with the specialty of school counseling and is currently working on a doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy. She practices therapy from an eclectic approach gravitating towards solution-focused and narrative therapy. She has extensive experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral issues, anxiety, depression and anger management concerns. Her work in schools and community mental health agencies had allowed her to work and understand how to work with diverse backgrounds of children and their families.
Some of Taja’s future aspirations include traveling around the world to speak about mental health, opening a community center where she can continue to provide free and low-cost programs to children and families and expand Heart of Gold Counseling nation-wide
