Description of the group: This group is for pre-teen/teenagers ages 14-17 who have experienced a loss related to death, divorce, adoption, etc. During this group the participants will learn the stages of grief, how to express and process their emotions and learn coping skills through art, music and bibliotherapy.
Description of the group: Drama therapy is an embodied practice that is active and experiential. This approach helps children learn how communicate effectively by telling their stories, setting goals, solving problems, and expressing their feelings. Through drama, the depth and breadth of inner experience can be actively explored and interpersonal relationship skills can be enhanced.
By providing a non-judgemental environment, we are able to teach children and adolescents coping skills, better ways to deal with their anger and help them to improve their decision making.
